Animal Farm by George Orwell –Book Review

We read this book together. If you would like to listen to the audio recordings get connected to the communication hubs. There are multiple books that we have recorded for you all to listen to.
This book is about Communism. But more specifically, it is based on the Spanish Civil war when Stalin sided with the Spanish Republic. He did this in an effort to support Communism in Western Europe, but even more so to gain allies against Fascism.
This lead me to asking Google what the difference is between fascism and communism. So, let me share what I found:
Fascism is far right. Communism is far left.
Fascism is focused on ultra nationalism and extreme state power. Communism is focused on class struggle and the creation of a classless, stateless society.
Fascism economy is state-controlled, often maintaining private ownership and small businesses but with heavy regulation. Communism economy involves abolition of private property; common ownership of all means of production, distribution, and exchange.
Fascism Social Structure: Belief in a natural, hierarchical society, often based on race, with individual interests subordinated to the state’s. Communism Social Structure: Aims for total equality, with the ultimate goal being a society without classes or the state.
Fascism Goals: To create a powerful, unified nation, often through militarism and suppression of opposition. Communism Goals: To achieve a global, communist society where resources are distributed based on need.
Both lead to totalitarian rule.
Both are oppose to democracy.
Both are single party authoritarian systems.
I don’t know about you all, but I had no clue about this. From looking at these it seems like the United States is nearly Fascist. We are so close to a one part system. This freaks me out, how about you? The Nazis were an extreme version of fascism. And this is what lead to the Holocaust.
It is funny because the Democratic party is nearly the majority nowadays. And that is the party my family controls. But they are not interested in Democracy. They are interested in both Communism and Fascism(they are extremely racist). I vote Republican. And this made me update my voter registration address so I know that I get to vote! I hope you all are registered to vote! We may not get to vote for much longer. I don’t know if the Republican party is really any better, but I do know that my family does not control them as much. And I can vote for that!
George Orwell fought in the Spanish Revolution. This experience is what lead him to writing the books Animal Farm and 1984. Because it, “…left him alarmed about the gullibility of other well-meaning, decent people in the Western Europe.”
Animal Farm addresses the fall of the monarchy and the transition to dictatorship, Communism, and totalitarian rule in Russia/Soviet Union. While also at the same time shedding light on Stalin’s involvement in the Spanish Revolution. Politics had never really been changed this much in such a short period of time. And this struggle seems to still be an ongoing issue.
Totalitarianism seems to be what all the people at the top want. But what do the people want? What do you want? Have you ever asked yourself this? Or did you just say to yourself, “It is what it is.” Because just because it is this way today, does not mean it has to be this way tomorrow. The saying, “It is what it is,” is designed to induce learned helplessness. If you do not believe you can help yourself, you will not try. You will comply.
The pigs Napoleon and Snowball, in Animal Farm, are supposed to represent Stalin and Trotsky. These two leaders fought for control over the Soviet Union after Vladimir Lenin’s death(1924). This was the Russian revolution. Trotsky was thrown out of power, sent into exile, and eventually assassinated(1940) by Stalin’s regime.
Just as in Animal Farm, Stalin used manipulation in order to throw Trotsky out of power. Have you heard that saying, “Your mind is just playing tricks on you”? This is how Stalin came to power he kept pulling the wool over people’s eyes and changing the rules, while gaslighting them. In Animal Farm, the rules/laws written on the barn wall are altered as time progresses. But whenever the animals asked if they have been changed they are gaslighted, which is a form of psychological abuse.
Google:
Gaslighting: “Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation and emotional abuse where a person tries to make someone question their own memory, perception, and sanity by twisting their emotions and experiences. It is a tactic to gain power and control, often causing victims to become more vulnerable and dependent, making it harder to leave an abusive situation. “
Gaslighting is something that people with cluster b personality disorders love to do. It is one of my family’s favorite war tactics. Gaslighting is a way for them to change the narrative of a situation without your permission or even knowing. Instead of discussing what they are doing, they draw attention to you and your short comings(real or false) and away from the issues. They do this by twisting reality, questioning memory, invalidating emotions, isolation, and victim blaming.
You know how all the groups in this stupid imaginary game are divided and isolated? This revolution has been going on for over 4 years and we still have not reached all the people. This isolation is what allows people like my family to gaslight you all. They can lie to you all and manipulate you and make you feel like the problem because you have no way to fact check them. If they make you all feel like the problem, than you will not fight back, stand up for yourselves, and/or revolt. The only way they can keep you small is with your permission. The only way people like my family have power over you is if you hand your power over to them.
Pavlov(you know the ring the bell and the dogs come guy), the inventor of classical conditioning techniques in Russia/Soviet Union. He knew Communism could not survive unless people do not believe they can take care of themselves. People like my family not only isolate you all, but they gaslight you into thinking you cannot take care of yourselves. This way they are able to be your savior. They create problems, say you created them, blame you, say you are inferior, and then come to your rescue to be your savior. This way you will believe you cannot live without them. And you willingly hand over control of your lives.
My family creates the problems just like the pigs created the problems in Animal Farm. And they do not play fair, they play dirty.
You know how Napoleon takes the baby dogs after they have been weened and puts them in the attic where no one else can get to them? And then he raises them to be his protectors and enforcers. This is what my family does with the Mixed Polish NE/NE people, especially the ones born after the late 1980s. They are the baby dogs. They have no clue what my family is really up to because they have been isolated for generations. There access to information has been limited for generations. Everyone’s access to information has been limited, but the Mixed Polish NE/NE people have been isolated just like the baby dogs in Animal Farm. They do the dirty work, but they have no clue what they are fighting for or what is really happening. Do they even know they are doing the dirty work?
NE/NE Mixed Polish people are literally fighting to be a subhuman slave race on a gene and cellular level, to continue to be isolated, and have their access to information limited in such a manner that they are kept small until the end of time. With it just getting worse and worse as the generations go on. I am pretty certain that is not what they want. They just don’t know any better. My Mom always used to tell me, “When people know better, they do better.” My family does not want people to know better because it is human nature that they will do better afterwards. People do not fight for what is not in their best interest. Darwinism is about self-interest.
“Sometimes the older ones among them racked their dim memories and tried to determine whether in the early days of the Rebellion, when Jone’s expulsion was still recent, things had been better or worse than now. They could not remember. There was nothing with which they could compare their present lives: they had nothing to go upon except Squealer’s lists of figures, which invariably demonstrated that everything was getting better and better.”
The people who can think back to the 1980s when my family came into power are limited. Both sides of my family did not come to the United States until the late 1940s/early 1950s. But they did not come into power fully here until the 1980s. I was very young during this time, but I remember the change. Do you? Have you ever talked to anyone about the changes? Have you told your children what it used to be like? Do you even remember what it used to be like?
The Average American is sick, fat, poor, and divorced. In the 1980s, this was not true. Children born today have a shorter life expectancy than their parents. In the 1980s, this was not true. The media says we are doing better. But are we really? Propaganda does not have to be true to work.
Have you noticed how everyone looks sick, fat, and nearly dead? People do not even look the same as they did in the 1980s. You can literally see the subhuman slave race on a gene and cellular level in people. People don’t look real human anymore do they? When you look in the mirror right when you get out of the shower and you see that you do not look like humans should, what do you think? You blame yourself, right? Environment dictates epigenetics. Yes, you probably have made some shitty decisions. But the environment is set up to rig the game and the system, so you are not human on a gene and cellular level. You eat food, drink water, breath air, and shower. All these things, and countless others, make you more of a subhuman slave race on a gene and cellular level.
“All Animals Are Equal…But Some Animals Are More Equal Than Others.”
All the rules on the barn wall were erased and this is the only painted on the wall towards the end of Animal Farm. In the end, the one with the gold makes the rules, right? Or is it more like the one with absolute power makes the rules? That is totalitarianism. Power is the ultimate gold. But you know why that is scary? It is scary because:
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
